Alecia Jean Denegar (she/they) is a gender non-binary cinematographer. For the past several years they have gone by their preferred middle name Jean. 

 

Jean's work has premiered in Chicago's Reel Short Film Festival for the screening of the short film "Drown", Santa Monica Film Festival for "This Time Tomorrow", premiered at Cinegear for "Daisy", and their AFI Thesis Film "Children of Change" that premiered at AFI Film Fest, & Honorable mention at Athens International Film Festival.

 

For the last decade, Jean has built their merit in the Chicago film Industry. After graduating from Columbia College Chicago's cinematography program, Jean continued on to shoot projects in the Los Angeles area. While there, Jean graduated with a Masters in Cinematography from the American Film Institute. Since then, Jean has gone on to shoot narrative feature films, documentaries, commercials, & music videos.

Jean's cinematography has streamed on large platforms such as their work “The King of Cool” on TMC.

 

Jean has also been featured on Voyager Magazine
